Kevin Lee McDaniel, 71, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 19 after a valiant and courageous decade-long battle with cancer. He was born December 26, 1954 in Columbus.
Kevin graduated from Eastmoor Academy in 1972. He got a job as a plumber and worked his way through college, earning a bachelor's degree in business and became a proud alumnus of THE Ohio State University, class of 1977.
After college, Kevin founded McDaniel Plumbing Company. He had a tremendous love for the trade and was known for his strong work ethic and intense passion. Over the next 40 years he built his company on a foundation of integrity and reliability. Kevin was a master plumber and craftsman who took immense pride in serving his customers and the community with unparalleled expertise.
Kevin was an amazing father and dedicated family man. He built a beautiful life with his wife of 43 years and their three children. They were his reason and motivation to continue fighting cancer. Over the last 15 years his greatest joy was watching the growth of his 8 grandchildren. They were the reason and motivation to continue fighting. Another light in his life was his dog Baylee, who never left his side and was his saving grace. Kevin also had a deep love of sports, and was a true fanatic of THE Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Celtics, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Cleveland Browns.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Mary Jane McDaniel, and his father and mother-in-law Bob and Janet Davis. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children Sean, Corey, and Shannon (Nick Crist); 8 grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Dylan, Conor, Kody, Bexley, Nolan, and Madelynn; sister Karen (Mike) Moyer; brother in law Brian Davis; nieces and nephew Aaron Davis, Lindsay Davis, Kelsey Scovel, and Emily Weller.
Services for Kevin will be held at Grace Fellowship Pickerington Campus on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12:30 p.m. Service begins at 12:30 p.m.. with a reception immediately following. Flowers can be sent to Grace Fellowship Pickerington Campus, 1449 Refugee Rd. Pickerington, Ohio 43147.
