Kathryn Carol Richardson, long time resident of Bexley and Upper Arlington died Sunday, March 1, 2020. Carol was born in the Irish-Italian section of Over-the-Rhine in Cincinnati to Cliff Boehmer and Kathryn King in December 1933. Upon the death of her father, Carol moved at age 3 with her two sisters to the home of maternal Grandparents Bess Doherty King and Edward Schroth. Upon her mother's remarriage to W.J. Nadicksbernd the family eventually moved to Florida where the then six siblings were raised. Carol married Navy Pilot John D Richardson in 1953 at the Pensacola Naval Air Station and after the Navy they returned to Columbus to begin John's career in Aeronautical Engineering with North American Aviation in Columbus. In addition to being wife and mother to son J. David, Carol was active at St. Pius X Parish in the Rosary Alter Society, a founder of the Elderly Visitation Group and an elementary Teacher's Aide. In addition, she was involved with community theatre, Management Club Auxiliary, Aeroettes Dance Club and a number of other fundraising/service organizations. She was named "Mother of the Year" in 1961. Later she made a career of various roles in Office Administration for a number of companies including a role as Assistant to BancOhio Sr. Vice President, J. Edgar Hoover. As a member of St. Catherine's Parish in Bexley, Carol helped in the Parish Office. A daughter, Anne Marie was born in 1968 and by 1988 Carol began to focus on her passion for Art, with study at Capital University, CCAD, The Columbus Cultural Arts Center and the Columbus Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she eventually worked. After retirement to Upper Arlington, Carol continued her artistic pursuits, traveling to Europe with her husband several times to meet with artists and friends. Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John D Richardson, Parents Clifford W. Boehmer, Kathryn King Boehmer Nadicksbernd and Stepfather W.J. Nadicksbernd Jr. and sister, Elizabeth J. Moore. Carol is survived by her son, J.D. Richardson, principal of Cousins Army Navy, a daughter, Anne (Bryan) Fouss, Grandson John Fouss, a brother, W.J. Nadicksbernd III, three sisters, Geraldine (Drew) Coleman, Margaret (Bob) Burgess, Susan (Jerry) Sharp and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews currently stationed all over the world. Funeral will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel on the grounds of St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling Hours will be in the chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. for one half hour preceding the Mass. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 with a private interment at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Richardson Endowment fund with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Columbus Museum of Art or the Charity of your choice.

Kathryn "Carol" Boehmer Richardson. A long-time resident of Columbus area, died Sunday March 1, 2020.

Carol was born December 20, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of three, Carol and her two sisters lost their father Cilfford Boehmer to a tragic accident. Later, Carol's mother remarried to a loving man William J. Nadicksbernd, together they had a son and two daughters. Carol met the love of her life, John Richardson in Pensacola, Florida while he was in flight training with the Navy. She was married to John for over 65 years until his death November 11, 2018.

She was a loving and devoted mother to J.D. Richardson and Anne Richardson Fouss. The joy of her life was being the grandmother "Mimi" to John Fouss.

Carol had a huge appreciation for the arts. She enjoyed taking classes at the Cultural Arts center, Capital University and CCAD where she studied watercolor and sculpture. She enjoyed attending art exhibits at galleries in Europe and the United States. She was an active volunteer for the Columbus Museum of Art. She was a devoted Catholic who often attended daily Mass and volunteered for the different parishes she attended throughout her life.

Carol is preceded in death by husband, John D Richardson, her father Clifford Boehmer, her mother and step-father Kathryn and William Nadicksbernd, her sister Betty (Paul) Moore and her niece Dru Ellen Johnson. She survived by her son J.D. Richardson, her daughter Anne (Bryan) Fouss, and grandson John Fouss. She is also survived by her siblings Geri (Drew) Coleman, Bill (Regina) Nadicksbernd, Peggy (Bob) Burgess, Sue (Jerry) Sharp along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
