PADBERG

John O'Shaughnessy Padberg, 40, born December 31, 1981, died peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on August 15 ^th with his family surrounding him. Survived by daughter Danielle Padberg, and co-parent Rachel Lake, loving adoptive parents John Robert Padberg, Ph.D. and Ellen O'Shaughnessy Padberg, D.Min., sister Ann Padberg Luke, brother-in-law Joseph Luke, niece Bella Luke, and nephew Alex Luke. John graduated from Watterson High School in 2000. He worked as an auto mechanic by trade. He was a loving son, father, brother, friend. He was a goalie as a soccer player, a Boy Scout and nature explorer in Philmont, New Mexico and Canadian Boundary Waters. He was a humorist, an artist, and piano player. He played Maple Leaf Rag on the piano at Scott Joplin's home in St. Louis. John was a life-long member of St. Thomas More Newman Center where he was baptized as an infant. John served the Downtowners Campus Ministry on many occasions, including serving at Faith Mission . Friends may call at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at Sacred Heart Church, 893 Hamlet St. Columbus 43201.
