David L. Knife, age 63, died on October 18, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a brave fight with cancer. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret Ann Knife; and his longtime canine buddy, Hank. Parents, Marjorie and Louis Knife of Troy (OH); children, Amanda (Ian) Braun, David Jason Knife, Joel Richard (Emily) Knife; the loves of his life, his dear grandchildren, Madelyn Courtney, Eli James, David Jacob, and soon-to-be, Stella Marie; brothers, Rev. Dr. Kent (Barbara) Knife of North Ridgeville (OH) and Paul (Joyce) Knife, New Iberia (LA); also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors. A graduate of Troy High School, he attended Eastern Kentucky University and received a Purple Heart while serving six years on the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam War. A member of Saint Matthias Parish, he was an avid fisherman and volunteered for Special Olympics, Haven of Hope and Fishing Has No Boundaries.
